We are committed to protecting the COSMIN name. A researcher who wants to use the name ‘COSMIN’, can do so under the following conditions:
– The research (or else) should be conducted and reported in line with the COSMIN methodology, including terminology, as described in COSMIN guideline articles, perspectives and and the textbook Measurement in Medicine (De Vet et al. 2011)
– New tools and guidelines should be complementary to existing tools and guidelines, or update existing tools or guidelines
– New tools and guidelines should be developed under supervision of one or more of the executive board members
– One or more members of the executive board should give final approval of the use of the name COSMIN to an endproduct
